How the honeycomb eye structure is formed

Injera gets its open, spongy surface — the "eyes" — from fermented teff batter. The batter is acidic and actively ferments while it sits in the tank, which is what destroys ordinary sensor and control electronics. On a SHENGXING injera machine the batter is metered onto a wide alloy-cast drum held at a PLC-regulated surface temperature, steam is trapped under a cover so the top face sets without browning, and the sheet is lifted continuously. Eye formation depends on three things the machine controls: drum surface temperature uniformity within 1 degree C, a drum width large enough to cast a full-size injera without a seam, and control firmware that does not fault when the batter pH drops.

Why drum width decides the model

A 450 mm drum (6QP-8045) produces standard household-size injera at 3,500 pcs/h. A 600 mm drum (6QP-12060) is the widest in the SHENGXING wrapper range and produces larger restaurant and export format injera at 8,000 pcs/h. Both are the same machine frame working on a different food, which is why one model designation covers two duties.

Acidic batter and the control system

Fermented teff batter stalls conventional sensors. The self-developed PLC linkage used on these models is covered by SHENGXING software copyright and is engineered to run 24/7 on acidic batter without fault stops.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which SHENGXING machine makes injera?

Two models: the 6QP-8045 with a 450 mm drum at 3,500 pcs/h, and the 6QP-12060 with a 600 mm drum at 8,000 pcs/h. Both are the same machine frame that also produces spring roll wrapper sheets.

Can one machine make both injera and spring roll wrappers?

Yes. The 6QP-8045 and 6QP-12060 run both products; only the batter and the cutting setup change. This is why SHENGXING publishes one page per model and describes both duties on it.

Why does injera need a wide drum?

Authentic injera is a large round sheet with an open honeycomb structure. A narrow drum cannot cast the full diameter without a seam, so the 450 mm and 600 mm widths are the practical minimum for industrial injera.

Does fermented teff batter damage the machine?

The acidic fermented batter is what faults ordinary control electronics. These models run self-developed PLC linkage covered by SHENGXING software copyright, engineered for 24/7 operation on acidic batter.

Are the injera machines CE certified?

Yes. Both the 6QP-8045 and the 6QP-12060 model designations appear on CE certificate M.2022.206.C76950, issued by UDEM International Certification, valid to 2027-08-30.

What is the lead time for an injera line?

Lead time is 60 days from confirmed order and deposit, MOQ 1 set. Voltage is customised per destination: 220V / 380V / 415V, 50/60Hz.
